OUR FIVE MINUTES OF FAME!

>From left: Dacre, Martin, Bonnie, Gavin Esler, Martin Rosenbaum, David P., David R. & Bruce

March 20, 2003 was certainly an eventful day, not least for the world with the outbreak of war in Iraq, but also for the OICs, who had the chance to state their views on the long term prospects for the economy and Britain's future relations with Europe and the US. We were visited in the relative peace of Devon by BBC presenter Gavin Esler to be interviewed for a current affairs programme that he was producing for Radio 4.

Gavin and his producer, Martin Rosenbaum, could not have been nicer people and immediately put everyone at ease (well almost). Although our chairman claims that she became tongue-tied when faced with the microphone, all present gave a good account of themselves. We were also able to talk about our successful (at the social level, at least) functioning as a club and the benefits we derive from investing this way. Twinning members will be glad to know we put in a plug for you as well!
