Minutes 13 December, 2002 Present: Bonnie Blackwell, Dacre Holloway, John Winson, Brenda Noble, Bruce Beacham, Gwilys Price, David Redfern (host), Marian Thornton, Martin Smith, David Pankhurst Apologies: Mike West Minutes of Previous Meeting These were approved and signed. Matters Arising David Pankhurst had won the competition with his share Spirent whose price had risen by 20%. John Winson and David Pankhurst had moved the dealing account to Comdirect, although there had been delays which meant that our purchases of Capita & Propan Homes had been carried out via our Barclays account. The PIN number would be held by the dealers and the secretary only. Treasurers Report The treasurer was delayed but had reported that we had £675 available for investment. Share Monitors' Reports Our holdings were reviewed with particular emphasis on BAe Systems whose price had fallen sharply over the last few days. After a long discussion it was decided to hold all our shares for another month. It was also agreed that we would make no changes to our IT holdings and would be looking to broaden their base by perhaps investing in the USA market for the next year’s contributions. Dealers Report We had purchased the shares agreed at the last meeting and the details of these transactions are as follows: Capita – 281 shares, £721 Propan – 5090 shares, £721 Future Investments GUS (Marion) Spruaegis (John) Sainsburys, Easyjet, GSK (Martin) Rexam (David P) ARM Holdings (David R) Tesco, M&S (Brenda) Gwilys asked if members could look out for information on a new telecom company called March Telecom. It was decided not to purchase any shares this month. Any Other Business The January social meeting was confirmed by Marion at Knights in Exmouth on Friday 10 January 2003 at 1930. Next Meeting This will be on Friday 10 January 2003. Martin agreed to host the February meeting with a provisional date of 07 February 2003.
