Retired secretary with two daughters and four grandchildren. In the early years of her career, she worked for a senior engineer at the headquarters of the Gas Board. Three and a half years were spent in Canada working as a secretary in rather diverse companies such as shipping, stockbrokers, banking and construction, finally managing a small holiday complex.

After a break to deal with marriage, children and the return to the UK, she stepped onto the treadmill once again! This time as PA to the managing director of an engineering company, who later became the chairman of the group of companies, exporting to many countries around the world, with subsidiaries in both Canada and the United States. She remained with this group of companies for 28 years until retirement in 1997.
