An apprenticeship with Rolls Royce lead to me taking a degree in ‘Engineering in French’ at Bath and working on the development of Concorde. This kindled a love of the French way of life and later resulted in an eleven year stint as Secretary of Otterton Twinning Association. My work as an engineer has taken me to many different countries around the World. My main interests are D-I-Y, gardening, designing, computers and dabbling in shares. I leave the sports to my Dutch wife (and elder son who in a CV said he liked football; what he meant was he liked to watch football on tv!).
