Bede![]() COMPANY NEWS January 2004 Bede plc - Third Quarter Results Bede plc, a global provider of X-ray technology solutions for materials analysis, today reports its Third Quarter Results for the nine months ended 30 September 2003. Highlights Increased acceptance of X ray metrology and strengthening of demand in target semiconductor markets led to increased order intake of £1.4m (Q3 2002: £0.5m). Cost base reduced by 14% to £3.9M (2002: £4.6M pre exceptionals). Retained loss of £2.9M pre exceptionals (2002: £2.3M pre exceptionals) from revenues of £2.4m (2002: £5.0m) Following successful placing in July 2003, net cash balance of £3.3M (30 September 2002: £2.0m as restated). Neil Loxley, Chief Executive of Bede plc, commented: "We are encouraged by the increasing acceptance of X-ray metrology and the continued strengthening of demand in our target semiconductor markets, both of which are now beginning to translate into increased order bookings and sales. We believe that the Group is ready to exploit anticipated increased spending by this sector in the next two years, and can secure a share of the multi-billion dollar semiconductor metrology market."
